Tony winners Al Pacino, Billy Porter and Nina Arianda have teamed up with Broadway favorite Dianne Wiest and more in the silver screen adaptation of Philip Roth's novel The Humbling. As we previously reported, Porter was eyeing a role in the film and according to Deadline, the Barry Levinson directed movie is currently in post-production. No word yet on release dates but Millennium Films has acquired worldwide rights for distribution.
The Humbling features a slew of eccentric characters. It centers on the tale of a declining stage actor (Pacino) who retires to his upstate New York farmhouse and begins an affair with a considerably younger lesbian woman. The film has a script by Buck Henry, Michal Zebede and Levinson.
The movie also stars Charles Grodin, Emmy winner Kyra Sedgewick and Dan Hedaya.
