Before you see Vanessa Williams jazz it up in After Midnight this spring, see her on the small screen alongside Tony winner Cicely Tyson in the new Lifetime TV adaptation of Horton Foote's The Trip to Bountiful. Williams and Tyson reprise their roles of Jessie Mae Watts and Carrie Watts, respectively, in the new televised adaptation of the 2013 Broadway revival. In Bountiful, Tyson plays an elderly woman who longs to return to her hometown of Bountiful, Texas, one last time, despite the disapproval of her son and daughter-in-law. The new Lifetime version will also star Broadway alum Blair Underwood and Keke Palmer. Helmed by Michael Wilson, who also directed the stage show, the new adaptation will air March 8.
