We totally relate to Tony nominee and Frozen star Jonathan Groff’s recent post-Oscar revelation. “I'm in an afterglow moment of Frozen winning," he told The Hollywood Reporter. “'Let It Go' is still stuck in my head.” Ours too, Jonathan. Ours too.
The Looking star also opened up about how pleased he is that the HBO show has been renewed. “We've been keeping our fingers crossed for a season two since the day we wrapped. We had so much fun, it's ridiculous,” said Groff, who plays plays Patrick in the series and has recently shared some intimate scenes with Russell Tovey, who stars as Kevin. The pair first met “on Broadway when he [Tovey] was doing History Boys, and I was doing Spring Awakening.” Luckily they “just naturally get along” as they had to do multiple takes of their recent somewhat scandalous screen kiss. “I didn't know what was going to happen until I finally saw the episode because that kiss was done in so many different ways.”
Will they be sneaking in a song for Patrick to sing on Looking? “I think Patrick would be a terrible singer, actually. I have an instinct that he is the kind of person who would get super drunk and sing Madonna at karaoke, but it would be horrendous.”
Nothing you do could be horrendous to some people in the Broadway.com office, Jonathan…
The Looking finale airs March 9 and then we have Groff’s star turn in The Normal Heart to look forward to May 25.
