Tyne Daly dropped by Today on April 17 to discuss Mothers and Sons with Kathie Lee and Hoda. Don't worry, this visit wasn't a surprise one. During the interview, the Tony and Emmy winner gushed about playwright Terrence McNally, saying, “we did Master Class together a couple of seasons ago and fell in love, and so he made this play for me. It’s wonderful.” Daly also explained the magic of live performance. “Film is frozen. Live is I’m there," she said, adding, “It’s like surfing. You get on the wave and you go all the way home.” Have a look at the clip below, and catch Tyne Daly surfing (OK, she doesn't actually surf) in Mothers and Sons on Broadway at the John Golden Theatre.
