The fans have spoken, and here are your 2014 Broadway.com Audience Choice Award nominees! Theater lovers were all abuzz last week about nominations for a certain prestigious award, but now it’s time to walk the walk and vote for your favorite shows and performers. The revival of Les Miserables led the pack with a total of 11 nominations, followed closely by If/Then, which received nine nods. Hedwig headliner Neil Patrick Harris, If/Then queen Idina Menzel, Aladdin standout James Monroe Iglehart, and First Date sasstress Krysta Rodriguez each celebrated three nominations. Voting begins now and will end on Sunday, May 18 at 11.59PM. The winners will be announced later in the month via a special online show.
The Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards, now in its 15th year, are the only major theater awards voted on by Broadway’s biggest cheerleaders: the fans. Shortly after its launch in 2000, the editors of Broadway.com realized that the Broadway community was missing an award from the people: the actual fans that fill the seats, cheer on the stars and keep Broadway alive.
