Some new faces are about to brave the Opera Populaire. The Voice U.K.’s Liam Tamne will join the cast of The Phantom of the Opera beginning September 1 at Her Majesty’s Theatre. He will be joined by John Ellis and Alicia Beck, who will make their West End debuts as Piangi and Meg Giry, respectively.
Tamne appeared on the second season of BBC’s The Voice U.K,, having previous appeared on the West End Stage in Les Miserables, Hair, Hairspray and Wicked. Ellis performed the role of Piangi in the German production of Phantom and has also appeared on stage in the world tour of Cats and the U.K. tour of Jesus Christ Superstar. Beck has danced with several international ballet companies and appeared in the U.K. and European tour of Cats.
The three actors join a cast the includes Geronimo Rauch as The Phantom, Harriet Jones as Christine, Andy Hockley as Monsieur Firmin, Martin Ball as Monsieur Andre, Lara Martins as Carlotta and Jacinta Mulcahy as Madame Giry. Emmi Christensson will continue to play Christine at certain performances.
