Broadway alum Nick Blaemire will star in the world premiere of Found. The Atlantic Theater Company production will also feature Heathers star Barrett Wilbert Weed, Daniel Everidge, Betsy Morgan and Community’s Danny Pudi. The new musical features a book by Tony nominee Hunter Bell and Lee Overtree and a score by Eli Bolin. Performances begin on September 18 at the Linda Gross Theater, where it will run through November 9. Opening night is set for October 14.
Blaemire’s theater credits include Broadway’s Godspell and Cry-Baby, as well as Dogfight off-Broadway. He also wrote the music and lyrics for Glory Days. In addition to Heathers, Weed appeared off-Broadway in Bare and on Broadway in Lysistrata Jones. Everidge’s stage credits include Grease, Falling and Fat Camp. Morgan can currently be seen in the Broadway revival of Les Miserables, having previously appeared on the Great White Way in A Little Night Music, The Little Mermaid and High Fidelity. Additional cast members include Christina Anthony, Andrew Call, Orville Mendoza, Molly Pope and Sandy Rustin.
Directed by Overtree, the musical is based on the Found books and magazines by Davy Rothbart. It explores the surprising and eccentric discarded notes and letters that have been found in the real world by everyday people. The show follows Davy (Blaemire) and his two best friends who find themselves on a wild, comedic journey after he finds a revealing note on his windshield meant for someone else.
Found will feature choreography by Monica Bill Barnes, scenic design by David Korins, costumes by Theresa Squire, lighting design by Justin Townsend, sound design by Ken Travis, and projection design by Darrel Maloney.
