Tony winner Brian Dennehy and Mia Farrow return to the Great White Way beginning September 13 in A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters. The pair stopped by The Today Show to discuss launching this revival, which will feature a rotating cast of stars in limited engagements. “You cannot stage a play more simply than this,” Dennehy says. “All you do is speak it. The writer wants you to just hear the words…and you will provide the emotions for yourself.” Farrow proved that their affection for each other is not just an act: “There’s a compelling reason to do a play if Brian’s in it, but also, this is an exquisite play.” And while we’ll have to wait just a day more to see the two on stage, Dennehy revealed, “We have no twerks in this play.” Damn. Catch the twerk-less Dennehy and Farrow in Love Letters at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, opening officially on September 18!
