The Belle of Amherst, Starring Joely Richardson as Emily Dickinson, Begins Off-Broadway

Emily Dickinson is back in the spotlight, as The Belle of Amherst starts preview performances off-Broadway at the Westside Theatre on October 7. Stage and screen star Joely Richardson stars in the Steve Cosson-helmed revival.

In William Luce's The Belle of Amherst, Emily Dickinson’s poems, diaries and letters are woven into an illuminating portrait of the prolific wordsmith. Dickinson’s encounters with close friends and family and her often-amusing observations come to life in the one-woman-play.

The limited engagement will open officially on October 19 and run through January 25, 2015.
