Will you love them as they are? The Broadway revival of Side Show opens officially at the St. James Theatre on November 17. Emily Padgett and Erin Davie star as conjoined twins Daisy and Violet Hilton in the musical by Bill Russell and Henry Krieger. Oscar winner Bill Condon directs the new production and has provided additional book material.
To celebrate the musical’s Great White Way opening, Broadway.com resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson created this sketch of the cast in action. In addition to Padgett and Davie, the portrait features Matthew Hydzik as Buddy Foster, David St. Louis as Jake, Robert Joy as Sir, Ryan Silverman as Terry Connor, as well as a whole host of Side Show attractions, from the Bearded Lady to the Human Pin Cushion.
Congratulations to Side Show on its long-awaited return to Broadway! Promise us you’ll really never leave us this time?
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
