Wishes do come true! Gavin Creel will re-create his Olivier-winning performance as Elder Price in The Book of Mormon on Broadway. He will join the Great White Way company at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre on January 6, 2015 taking over from Nic Rouleau, who will play his final performance on January 4. Rouleau will then cross the Pond and join the London cast of the tuner from February 2.
Creel also created the role of Elder Price on the US First National Tour and recently returned to lead the company in Toronto. He earned Tony nods for Thoroughly Modern Millie and Hair, additionally appearing in the latter in the West End. His other Broadway credits include Mary Poppins (which he also tread the boards in London in) and La Cage aux Folles. He was seen in the title role of the American Repertory Theater production of Prometheus Bound and starred alongside Julie Andrews in the television movies Eloise at the Plaza and Eloise at Christmastime.
