Tickets are now available for Broadway’s The Heart of Robin Hood. The revamp of the classic vigilante tale will begin performances on March 10, 2015 at the Marquis Theatre, where it will run through August 23. The production, directed by Gisli Orn Gardarsson, will first run at Toronto’s Royal Alexandra Theatre from December 23 through March 1, having previously played Winnipeg, the American Repertory Theater in Massachusetts and the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon.
Written by David Farr and featuring live music by the folk band Parsonsfield, The Heart of Robin Hood follows the vigilante and his band of outlaws steal from the rich, but they do not share their spoils with the poor and are unloved by the people, who must also pay unfair taxes to the evil Prince John as he plots to steal his brother’s crown. In this time of chaos and fear, Marion must boldly protect the poor and convince Robin to listen to his heart if they are to save the country.
Opening night for The Heart of Robin Hood on the Great White Way is set for March 29. Casting for the Broadway production will be announced at a later date.
