It’s been a very great pleasure to make his acquaintance, and now he’s sticking around! The Elephant Man, starring Bradley Cooper, Alessandro Nivola and Patricia Clarkson, has extended its limited run at the Booth Theatre through February 22, 2015. It was originally scheduled to conclude on February 15.
To accommodate Clarkson’s schooting schedule for the upcoming film, Maze Runner: Scorch Trails, performances of The Elephant Man have been canceled on January 13, 14 and 20. An extra evening show has been added on Sunday, January 25.
Bernard Pomerance’s The Elephant Man revolves around the real-life John Merrick (Cooper), a severely disfigured 19th-century Englishman who struggles to live with dignity. The revival, which premiered at the Williamstown Theatre Festival in 2012, is helmed by Scott Ellis.
In addition to Cooper, Clarkson and Nivola, the cast features Anthony Heald, Scott Lowell, Kathryn Meisle, Henry Stram, Chris Bannow, Peter Bradbury, Lucas Calhoun, Eric Clem, Amanda Lea Mason, Marguerite Stimpson and Emma Thorne.
