New York is the new Sin City! The Great White Way production of Jason Robert Brown and Andrew Bergman’s Honeymoon in Vegas opens officially at the Nederlander Theatre on January 15. The Gary Griffin-helmed production stars Tony Danza, Broadway.com vlogger Brynn O’Malley and Rob McClure. To celebrate the show's big night on the Great White Way, Broadway.com resident artist Justin "Squigs" Robertson penned this sketch of the cast in action.
They’re all here: Danza as the smooth-talking Tommy Korman, O’Malley as the ready-to-wed Betsy and McClure as commitment-phobe Jack Singer. Also featured are Nancy Opel as (the ghost of) Jack’s vengeful mother Bea, David Josefsberg as lounge singer Buddy Rocky, Matthew Saldivar as Tommy’s hunchman Johnny Sandwich, and a whole crew of Vegas showgirls and flying Evii.
Broadway.com wishes the cast of Honeymoon in Vegas a happy opening. Have an extra Mai Tai or two for us!
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
