Ruth Wilson, riding high after her win at the Golden Globes earlier this month for The Affair, recently spoke to Broadway.com about working with Jake Gyllenhaal in Constellations. “He digs deep every day, he demands more and more off me and challenges me to go deeper."
The pair are currently appearing in Nick Payne’s new play on Broadway. Wilson, who garnered Oliviers for her performances on the London stage in Anna Christie and A Streetcar Named Desire, also told us: “I think with this particular play it’s only two of you, it necessitates a level of trust.” And as for her relationship with Gyllenhaal? “I love him to bits! We’re really good friends and I think that’s what it needs.”
Constellations opened on January 13 at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre. Helmed by Michael Longhurst, the acclaimed show tells the story of one relationship with infinite possibilities.
