Say Yeah! Kinky Boots Alum Kyle Taylor Parker Steps Into Lola's High-Heeled Shoes on Broadway

Papa’s got a brand new shoe, and Kinky Boots has got a brand new Lola! Kyle Taylor Parker, who had been leading the show's national tour as Lola, steps into the role (and the titular boots that come with) on the Great White Way beginning January 27. He temporarily takes over for Tony winner Billy Porter at the Al Hirshfeld Theatre through April 26.

Parker made his Broadway debut in the Cyndi Lauper and Harvey Fierstein tuner, playing an Angel while understudying the role of Lola. His additional stage credits include the national tour of In the Heights.

The show follows Charlie Price as he is forced to step in and save his family’s shoe factory in Northern England after the sudden death of his father. Help comes from the unlikeliest angel, a fabulous drag performer named Lola. Together, this improbable duo revitalizes the nearly bankrupt business and transforms an entire community through the power of acceptance.

In addition to Parker, the Broadway cast includes Andy Kelso as Charlie, Jeanna de Waal as Lauren, Courtney Wolfson as Nicola, Daniel Stewart Sherman as Don and Marcus Neville as George.
