POW! Brooklynite, a New Superhero Musical Starring Matt Doyle & Nick Cordero, Begins Off-Broadway

Calling all superheroes and superhero wannabes! The world premiere of Brooklynite, starring Matt Doyle and Nick Cordero, begins performances on January 30. The off-Broadway tuner features music and lyrics by Peter Lerman and a book by Lerman and Michael Mayer. Mayer also directs. Opening night is set for February 25 at the Vineyard Theatre.

In Brooklynite, Trey Swieskowski is an idealistic hardware store clerk who dreams of becoming a superhero. Astrolass, Brooklyn's most celebrated superhero, is determined to throw in the cape and live like a normal Brooklynite. When they meet they hatch a plan that will change their lives forever. But can they save Brooklyn when it suddenly teeters on the brink of disaster?

In addition to Doyle and Cordero, the cast features Andrew Call, Gerard Canonico, Max Chernin, Nick Choksi, Carla Duren, Ann Harada, John-Michael Lyles, Grace McLean, Tom Alan Robbins, Nicolette Robinson and Remy Zaken.
