Glenn Close stopped by Late Night on February 4 to chat with her neighbor Seth Meyers about returning to Broadway in A Delicate Balance. The Edward Albee play contains some extremely challenging dialogue—syntax and language that the three-time Tony winner considers “nerve-racking.” But rather than shy away from the linguistic provocation, she and the cast have embraced it. The team occasionally competes in poetry contests against each other, the form ranging from haiku to limerick, and the subject content ranging from Horace (the company chipmunk) to the audience. Take a look at the clips below as Close demonstrates why Bob Balaban is the Bard of the Golden Theatre! A Delicate Balance will run through February 22.
