There's a bit of a switcheroo going on off-Broadway. Denis Arndt will replace the previously announced Kenneth Welsh in the world premiere of Heisenberg. Welsh has withdrawn from the production due to personal reasons. Starring Tony winner Mary-Louise Parker, the play, penned by The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time's Simon Stephens, will begin performances on May 19 at Manhattan Theater Club’s New York City Center—Stage II. Mark Brokaw will direct the six-week limited engagement, which will officially open on June 3.
Arndt is best known for his roles in L.A. Law, Annie McGuire and Basic Instinct; additional screen appearances include Grey’s Anatomy, Past Life, Boston Legal, 24 and Providence. Stage credits include The Tempest, King Lear, Othello, Richard II and The Ballad of Soapy Smith.
Amidst the bustle of a crowded London train station, Clare (Parker) spots Alex (Arndt), a much older man, and plants a kiss on his neck. This electric encounter thrusts these two strangers into a life-changing game.
Tickets are now available for the production.
