Raul Esparza's in Custody
Broadway faves Raul Esparza and Tony Shalhoub, along with Tony winners Ellen Burstyn and Dan Fogler, will join the previously reported two-time Tony winner Viola Davis in Custody. The James Lapine film explores the lives of three New York City women, each from different socio-economic backgrounds, whose lives unexpectedly intersect at N.Y. Family Court. Shooting of the movie, which will also star Catalina Sandino Moreno and Hayden Panettiere, is set to begin this week in the Big Apple.
Reed Birney & More Set for Sacrilegious
Reed Birney, Alexis Bledel, Rob McClure, Kevin Pariseau and Kenneth Tigar have been tapped for industry readings of Sacrilegious on May 7 and May 8. The new play is written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Tom Schulman (Dead Poets Society) and directed by Andy Sandberg. It follows billionaire David Katz (Birney), a convicted financial felon, who donates twenty million dollars to his temple provided they name their school after him. Young, newly installed rabbi Mark Pickerman (McClure) strenuously objects and offers the congregation an alternative option.
B'way Alums Tapped for Geffen's Bad Jews
Great White Way alums Ari Brand (The Neil Simon Plays) and Molly Ephraim (Into the Woods), will star alongside Lili Fuller and Raviv Ullman in the West Coast premiere production of Bad Jews. Joshua Harmon’s off-Broadway hit will be directed by Matt Shakman and run June 9 through July 19. Opening night is set for June 17 in the Gil Cates Theater at the Geffen Playhouse.

Broadway and off-Broadway favorites Barrett Wilbert Weed and Wesley Taylor are inviting you to come to the Cabaret in the below clip! As previously reported, the pair will star in Signature Theatre’s summer production of Kander & Ebb's classic tuner. Performances will begin in Arlington, Virginia’s MAX Theatre on May 12 and run through June 28. We're sure the production will be perfectly marvelous!
