Jim Parsons is allowing the Man Upstairs to take his form at Studio 54 in An Act of God. The Emmy winner recently sat down with The Today Show’s Willie Geist to discuss his divine return to Broadway and his God-given gifts that have led to this new role. “They picked me particularly for the personality that He had blessed me with,” he quips. “Winning, likeable and I have an off-beat sense of charm.” But enough praise for the actor; the biggest blessing is the chance to be the Heavenly Father for 90 minutes at a time: “Playing God, as strange as this might sound, it’s always a great show.” An Act of God, written by, well, God (and David Javerbaum), opens officially on May 28.
