Standup comedian and Saturday Night Live alum Colin Quinn will return to the New York stage in Colin Quinn: The New York Story, based on The Coloring Book. Comedy icon Jerry Seinfeld is set to direct. Quinn’s new solo show will run from July 9 through August 16 at the Cherry Lane Theatre.
Colin Quinn: The New York Story is a satirical take on the eccentricities that make New York City the center of the universe. Quinn, who was born and raised in Park Slope, Brooklyn, explains: “I’m working my way down to the most fascinating subject: me!”
In addition to SNL, Quinn’s numerous screen credits include Remote Control, Tough Crowd, Girls and Inside Amy Schumer. On stage, he’s appeared on Broadway in Colin Quinn: An Irish Wake and Colin Quinn: Long Story Short, which was also directed by Seinfeld and nominated for a Drama Desk and an Emmy. Colin Quinn: Unconstitutional played the Cherry Lane Theatre in 2013.
Opening night for The New York Story is set for July 23. The production will feature sets by James Fauvell, costumes by Alexis Forte and lighting design by Sarah Lurie.
