Megan Hilty Lands Bravo TV Gig
Megan Hilty has been tapped for season 2 of Bravo’s Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce, which stars Lisa Edelstein as a suddenly single author. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Broadway bombshell will appear as Charlene, a Southern belle who is married to Frumpkis, the ex-hubby of Jo (Alanna Ubach). Homeland’s Maury Sterling is boarding the cast as Frumpkis, along with Broadway and Mad Men alum Aaron Staton, who will take on the role of love interest JD. The series will air later this year. Hilty will next be seen on the boards headlining a one-night-only performance of Annie Get Your Gun at New York City Center on October 27.
Misty Copeland Documentary Sets Release Date
Curious to know more about incoming On the Town headliner and American Ballet Theatre’s principal ballerina Misty Copeland? We have good news! The U.S. rights to a documentary about her, Nelson George’s A Ballerina’s Tale, have been picked up by Sundance Selects, Variety reports. So you will be able to see the film in theaters and on Video On Demand from October 14. Copeland begins a limited engagement in On the Town on August 25.
Laura Bell Bundy Heads Down Recovery Road
Tony nominee Laura Bell Bundy will giddy on up to ABC Family’s Recovery Road. According to Us Weekly, the Legally Blonde star will appear in the upcoming drama as Monica, a reality TV Producer who infiltrates Springtime Meadows rehab facility. The series, which will also feature Jessica Sula, Daniel Franzese and Sharon Leal, is set to premiere in 2016.
Jon Robin Baitz’s Stonewall to Hit Movie Theaters
Tony nominee Jon Robin Baitz’s film Stonewall, which as previously reported stars Jeremy Irvine, will be released on September 25, EW writes. Helmed by Roland Emmerich, the biopic follows the 1969 police-raid of the Stonewall Inn in Greenwich Village, which became the flashpoint for the gay rights movement.
