Why have we brought you here? There are two new cast members joining Broadway’s longest running musical! Craig Bennett and Rachel Zatcoff have been tapped for The Phantom of the Opera as Monsieur Firmin and the Christine Alternate, respectively. Bennett, an original star of the new Phantom North American tour, will begin performances on August 31, succeeding Tim Jerome. Zatcoff will make her Great White Way debut on September 2, taking over for Kaley Ann Voorhees, who as previously reported is heading to Japan for Prince of Broadway.
Bennett’s Broadway credits include The Last Ship, A Tale of Two Cities, South Pacific and Miss Saigon. Zatcoff previously starred as Maria in the international tour of West Side Story. Her Opera credits include Street Scene, Die Fledermaus, La clemenza di Tito (Servilia) and Così fan tutte.
The cast also currently includes James Barbour as The Phantom, Julia Udine as Christine, Jeremy Hays as Raoul, Laird Mackintosh as Monsieur André, Michele McConnell as Carlotta, Linda Balgord as Madame Giry, Christian Šebek as Piangi and Kara Klein as Meg Giry.
