Broadway Stars Jennifer Hudson, Gloria Estefan, Kelli O’Hara & More Set for Show Before Pope Francis’ Mass

Jennifer Hudson, Gloria Estefan, Kelli O’Hara and more will perform at Madison Square Garden before Pope Francis’ Mass on September 25. The two-hour show, A Journey in Faith, will consist of prayer and devotional music, The New York Times reports.

Joining upcoming The Color Purple headliner Hudson, On Your Feet scribe Estefan and The King and I’s Tony winner O’Hara will be Harry Connick Jr., Martin Sheen, James “D-Train” Williams, Tony nominee Norm Lewis, along with the Broadway Inspirational Voices and the St. Charles Borromeo Choir.

The Pope will kick off his three-city U.S. tour on September 22 in Washington, before heading to New York on September 24 and then Philadelphia on September 26.
