No need to be beggin’ for it to stay: a decade after opening on Broadway, Jersey Boys is still the big man in town. And oh, what a decade it’s been. To commemorate the November 6 milestone, Broadway.com resident artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson walked like a man to the August Wilson Theatre and penned this sketch, which we just can’t take our eyes off of. Pictured in the portrait (left to right) are Quinn VanAntwerp as Bob Gaudio, Joseph Leo Bwarie as Frankie Valli, Richard H. Blake as Tommy DeVito and Matt Bogart as Nick Massi. Congratulations, boys! Keep hanging on to what you’ve got! And don’t you worry ‘bout us; we’ve still got plenty of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons references up our sleeve. Because who loves you? Broadway.com loves you.
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
