Phalaris’s Bull: Solving the Riddle of the Great Big World will make its world premiere off-Broadway. Conceived and performed by Steven Friedman and directed by David Schweizer, the production is scheduled to play a limited engagement from December 12 through January 16, 2016 at The Beckett Theater at Theatre Row.
Harvard-educated, molecular biologist, visual artist and provocative underground philosopher, Friedman has the answers to life’s big questions. This theatrical event—neither play nor lecture—staged to reflect Friedman’s prismatic and eclectic vision of the world, uses personal narrative, poetry, art and science to tell the story of a contemporary philosopher's quest to fulfill Einstein's ambition "to solve the riddle of the great, big world."
The production will feature scenic design by Caleb Wertenbaker, lighting design by Jimmy Lawlor, sound design by Ryan Rumery and projection design by Driscoll Otto.
