Top Broadway Creatives Set for Grease: Live
We’ve got chills—you might even say that they’re multiplying. Some mega Main Stem creatives have been tapped for Grease: Live! Costume design will be by the legendary Tony winner William Ivey Long (Hairspray), with music supervision by Tony winner Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) and production design by theater vet David Korins (Motown The Musical). The trio join the previously announced director Thomas Kail (Hamilton) and executive producer Marc Platt (Wicked). In other words, stars Aaron Tveit, Vanessa Hudgens and Julianne Hough are in the hands of Broadway’s best for the Fox telecast on January 31, 2016!
Supergirl Soars to New Heights for Jordan & Benanti
Broadway faves Jeremy Jordan and newlywed Laura Benanti will be flying high for some time to come (or something)! According to Deadline, CBS has picked up Supergirl for a “full season” of 20 episodes. Headlined by Melissa Benoist as the titular character, the show bowed in October with 13 million viewers; the series is garnering an increase of 46 percent in viewers on the same timeslot a year ago.
Daddy Long Legs to Stream Online
Daddy Long Legs is set to be the first ever Broadway or off-Broadway performance to be broadcast over the interweb free of charge! The new tuner, starring Megan McGinnis and her hubby Adam Halpin, will partner with Livestream on December 10. Directed by John Caird, the production is running at off-Broadway’s Davenport Theater.
