Following the short-lived Doctor Zhivago earlier this year, the Broadway Theatre has made a more promising match with Fiddler on the Roof. The revival, directed by Bartlett Sher and starring Danny Burstein, ended its third consecutive week of previews over the $1 million mark, taking in $1,047,622. While it has taken a dip with each report (the more notable being following a particularly gangbusters Thanksgiving), we expect its numbers to plateau comfortably over seven figures for some time as buzz develops further. Opening night is set for December 20. Meanwhile, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical took in its highest gross since May, making $1,347,047 and appearing in the top five by capacity. China Doll is beginning to see the effects of less-than-positive feedback with a downtick of nearly $200 thousand since last week. While it dipped below the seven-figure line, it still made 96% of its potential.
