China Doll, starring Al Pacino, has recouped its $3.7 million investment, according to The New York Times. The David Mamet play is scheduled to play through January 31 at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre.
The production is directed by Pam MacKinnon and began performances on October 21.
The two-hander follows Mickey Ross (Pacino), a billionaire who just bought a plane for his fiancé to celebrate his imminent retirement. As he’s about to leave the office, he takes one last phone call that could shake things up. Christopher Denham plays Ross’ assistant, Carson.
