Jenna Leigh Green and Sally Schwab will join the previously announced Christina Bianco and Kathy Brier in the off-Broadway return of The Marvelous Wonderettes. Performances will begin on March 23 at the Kirk Theatre at New York’s Theatre Row, with opening night set for April 28.
Green is perhaps best known as Libby Chessler on Sabrina the Teenage Witch. She appeared on Broadway, on tour and in L.A. in Wicked as Nessarose. Her additional stage credits include Bare and Tonya and Nancy: The Rock Opera. Schwab has appeared on stage in A Broadway Diva Christmas and The Wild Party. She is als a history teacher at South Bronx Preparatory School.
The Marvelous Wonderettes takes a cotton-candied colored musical trip down memory lane to the 1958 Springfield High School prom where we meet The Wonderettes: four girls with hopes and dreams as big as their crinoline skirts. The show follows their lives and loves from prom night to their 10-year reunion. The score highlights over 20 chart-topping hits of the era, including “Lollipop,” “Dream Lover,” “Stupid Cupid,” “Son of a Preacher Man,” “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me” and “It’s My Party.”
