Tickets are now on sale to see the North American premiere of Lucy Prebble’s The Effect. Directed by David Cromer, the production will begin previews on March 2 and officially open on March 16 at the Barrow Street Theatre.
Hearts racing. Minds reeling. Knees buckling. Connie and Tristan have palpable chemistry—or is it a side effect of a new super-antidepressant? They are volunteers in a clinical trial, but their sudden and illicit romance forces the supervising doctors to face off over the ethical consequences of their work.
Talent tapped for the production includes Kati Brazda (Our Town), Susannah Flood (Tribes, Love and Information), Carter Hudson (The Substance of Fire) and Steve Key (August: Osage County).
The show is set to feature scenic design by Marsha Ginsberg, costume design by Sarah Laux, lighting design by Tyler Micoleau, sound design by Erik T. Lawson, original composition by Daniel Kluger, projection design by Maya Ciarrocchi and fight direction by J. David Brimmer.
