Odds & Ends: Premiere Date Set for Aaron Tveit's BrainDead, Kristen Bell Opens Up About Frozen 2 & More

Premiere Date Set for Aaron Tveit's BrainDead
We now know what we’ll be doing the night after this year’s Tony Awards! BrainDead, CBS’ new comic-thriller starring your Broadway boyfriend Aaron Tveit and Tony winner Nikki M. James, is scheduled to premiere on June 13. The D.C.-set series about politics and extraterrestrials will feature Tveit as Gareth, a witty Legislative Director to a Republican senator; James is set to take on the role of Rochelle, a medical resident. It’s perhaps no surprise that Main Stem faves have landed roles in the series… showrunners Michelle and Robert King are theater fans and previously took charge of (and gave lots of stage faves employment with) The Good Wife.

Conrad Ricamora Promoted on Murder
Congratulations to The King and I's Conrad Ricamora, who has been upped to series regular on the ABC hit How to Get Away With Murder. TV line reports that the Broadway favorite's promotion will take effect at the start of the third season. Headlined by Tony winner Viola Davis, Ricamora plays Oliver, Connor’s tech-savvy boyfriend, in the show.

A View From the Bridge is L.A.-Bound
Ivo van Hove has been dominating the New York theater scene over the past few months—first with A View From the Bridge, swiftly followed by David Bowie's Lazarus and currently with Arthur Miller's The Crucible. Now the West Coast will feel the love from the avant-guarde director, with the L.A. Times reporting that A View From the Bridge is set to bow at the City of Angels' Ahmanson Theatre this September. No word yet on whether Mark Strong and the rest of the West End/Broadway cast will be on board for the transfer.

Kristen Bell Opens Up About Frozen 2
Kristen Bell starred in a movie you might just have heard of called Frozen, and in a recent interview she revealed a little more information about its follow-up. "The sequel is just finished being written and I think we start recording next month," she told E!. Bell also got candid about that song, screlted by a certain Broadway supernova. "Nothing will top 'Let It Go' ever and nothing should top it." Check out the interview below; the stage adaptation of the hit Disney film is due on Broadway in spring 2018. Incidentally, if you think you can play Anna or Elsa, there's currently an equity casting notice out for a developmental lab taking place April 30 through May 13. Apparently you'll need to be a "strong belter." Who knew?!
