Here's a quick roundup of stories you may have missed today.
She Loves Me's Jane Krakowski on Legs & Libraries
The adorable Jane Krakowski is currently starring opposite Laura Benanti and Zachary Levi in She Loves Me, and she visited Live with Kelly and Michael on March 22 to chat about her return to Broadway. Along with a discussion about maneuvering her legs into one very impressive dance move eight times a week, the Tony winner explained why she's getting a library card. (I think we all are!) Check out the video below; the revival is playing at Studio 54.
Darren Criss Will (Briefly) Return to Broadway
Darren Criss is just one of the special guests enlisted for Maize & Blue on Broadway on May 16. The one-night-only benefit concert at the August Wilson will celebrate the University of Michigan and its renowned musical theater department, as well as honor its longtime chair, Brent Wagner, who is retiring in May after 32 years. Many of the institution's well-known alumni will also be making an appearance at the event including Tony nominees Gavin Creel, Hunter Foster, Celia Keenan-Bolger and Jennifer Laura Thompson.
Mike Daisey Takes on Trump
Donald Trump is heading to Joe’s Pub this summer! Or rather Mike Daisey is bringing The Trump Card, a biography and a story about politics, to the venue. The famed monologist told the WSJ that the leading GOP candidate is a “frighteningly good speaker,” and that The Apprentice contains the clues to figuring out what makes him tick. Daisey is perhaps best known for his work The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs.
Cheyenne Jackson & More Set For Provincetown
Multiple Broadway favorites are heading to Provincetown’s Town Hall concert series this summer! Cheyenne Jackson will perform at the Art House on July 3, followed by Megan Hilty from July 17 through July 19, Kristin Chenoweth on August 16 and Patti LuPone on September 4. We’re already dreaming of those summer nights in Cape Cod…
P.S. This year's Broadway Backwards raised a record $480,287 for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and The Center. Hats off to all who took part!
