The Humans, Futurity & More Land Lucille Lortel Nominations

Nominations for the 31st annual Lucille Lortel Awards, honoring the best of the off-Broadway season, were announced on March 30. Stephen Karam’s The Humans led the pack with six nominations, although it did not receive a nod for Outstanding Play. The production is currently playing Broadway’s Helen Hayes Theatre. Meanwhile, César Alvarez’s Futurity received the most nominations for off-Broadway musicals with five nods. The Lortel Awards will be presented at the NYU Skirball Center on May 1.
