And for Broadway's next trick...Cirque du Soleil-Paramour will start soaring at the Lyric Theatre on April 16! As previously reported, Broadway alum Jeremy Kushnier replaces Bradley Dean as the male lead A.J. Featuring the Great White Way's signature storytelling and Cirque's spectacular acrobatics, the production will officially open on May 25.
Directed by Philippe Decouflé, the production will feature a 38-member cast that blends the best in circus arts and Broadway razzle dazzle. The quadruple threat of a musical is the first of Cirque du Soleil's kind and stars newcomer Ruby Lewis at the center of a Golden Age Hollywood-set love triangle. Kushnier and Ryan Vona's characters will fight for her heart as scene-stealing jugglers, high-flyers and even a New York City rooftop chase (on trampolines) heighten the stakes.
"[Paramour] is giving people a fresh take on what Broadway is capable of," leading lady Lewis recently told Broadway.com. "The acrobatics that we're able to achieve in this proscenium house is really going to blow people away."
Theater fans, get ready for some major oohing and ahhing.
