Welcome back to Beautiful, Jessica Keenan Wynn! The actress, who filled in for Tony nominee Anika Larsen for six months during her maternity leave in 2015, will return to take over the role of Cynthia Weil in the hit tuner on April 26. Larsen played her final performance in the role on April 24.
The fresh face made a splash as the lead mean girl in off-Broadway's Heathers before landing on the Great White Way as Carole King's whip-smart, wisecracking best friend and lyricist. As previously reported, she will join Something Rotten!'s Christian Borle and a number of other Broadway faves at The Cutting Room on May 9 for the inaugural Broadway Bee, which will benefit Broadway Bound Kids, an NYC performing arts education organization.
Featuring songs written by Gerry Goffin, Carole King, Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil and a book by Douglas McGrath, Beautiful tells the story of King from her early days as a Brooklyn teenager (named Carol Klein) struggling to enter the record business to her years spent as a chart-topping music legend.
The current cast at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre also includes Chilina Kennedy as Carole King, Scott J. Campbell as Gerry Goffin, Paul Anthony Stewart as Don Kirshner and Ben Jacoby as Barry Mann.
