Jessica Lange on Surviving Four-Hour Shows
Jessica Lange is currently headlining Broadway's Long Day's Journey Into Night and the Oscar winner stopped by Live! with Kelly and Michael on May 10 to talk about Eugene O'Neill's masterwork. "It's universal," said the 2016 Tony nominee. "It touches everybody, really." The production clocks in at close to four hours long, how does she keep her stamina up? "Sleep is my main ally these days!" Lange admitted. Check out the interview below; the Tony nominated revival is playing at the American Airlines Theatre.
Hamilton Wins Again
Hamilton’s Paul Tazewell (costumes), Howell Binkley (lighting) and Nevin Steinberg (notable effects) will be honored with Henry Hewes Design Awards for their input on the off-Broadway production of the hit tuner. Also picking up a prize for work in the 2014-15 theater season will be Riccardo Hernandez (scenic design) for The Invisible Hand. This marks the first time in the history of the awards, which recognize designers for their vision in venues on Broadway, off-Broadway and off-off Broadway, that a Main Stem production was not honored. The recipients will collect their prizes at a ceremony in the fall.
Pitch Perfect 3 Has Another Date Change
Pitch Perfect 3 has once again moved its release date, back to the originally scheduled July 21, 2017. According to Deadline, this means those aca-mazing Barden Bellas will compete (because that’s what they do) against Ferdinand, Dunkirk and Valerian. The Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson-led sequel obviously wins with us, anyway.
First Trailer for OITNB's Season Four
The ladies of Litchfield are back in action in the first official trailer for the fourth season of Netflix's Orange Is The New Black. Starring The Color Purple's Danielle Brooks, Broadway alum and current West End headliner Uzo Aduba and more, the series will bow on June 17.
