It all comes back! Fun Home favorites Emily Skeggs and Judy Kuhn will return to the Circle in the Square Theatre on May 24. Both nabbed 2015 Tony Award nominations for their respective roles in the Tony Award-winning tuner.
Skeggs was on hiatus from playing Medium Alison to film ABC's forthcoming LGBT civil rights drama When We Rise; Lauren Patten temporarily filled in until her final performance on May 22. Kuhn received hip surgery during her scheduled leave, with Rebecca Luker appearing as Helen for days and days in her absence.
Fun Home marks Skeggs' Main Stem debut. Kuhn received additional Tony nominations for her performances as Cosette in Les Miserables, Florence in Chess and Amalia in She Loves Me. Other Broadway credits include The Mystery of Edwin Drood, Rags and King David. She also provided the singing voice of Pocahontas in the 1995 Disney animated film of the same name.
Based on the graphic novel by Alison Bechdel, Fun Home charts a girl's quest to come to terms with her father's unexpected death. As she moves between past and present, Alison dives into the story of her volatile, brilliant father and relives her unique childhood at her family's funeral home.
The current cast of Fun Home also features Tony winner Michael Cerveris, Beth Malone, Gabriella Pizzolo, Roberta Colindrez, Zell Steele Morrow, Joel Perez and Cole Grey.
