The Presidential Race Reaches The Public; What Did You Expect? Opens Off-Broadway

The second play in Richard Nelson's acclaimed The Gabriels: Election Year In the Life of One Family celebrated its off-Broadway opening on September 16. What Did You Expect? brings the audience back into the Gabriel family kitchen, with the country now in the midst of the general election for President (sound familiar?). Stars Jay O. Sanders, Amy Warren, Lynn Hawley, Meg Gibson, Maryann Plunkett, Roberta Maxwell as well as scribe and director Nelson (see above) hit the red carpet for the opening of the Public's latest production, which began performances on September 10. House of Cards alum and recent Shakespeare in the Park star Corey Stoll stopped by the opening with his wife and fellow actress Nadia Bowers (see below); Stoll is starring in David Hare's Plenty at The Public beginning on October 4.
