Let the march begin! Andrew Rannells, Stephanie J. Block and Christian Borle start performances in the highly anticipated revival of Falsettos on September 29 at the Walter Kerr Theatre. Opening night is scheduled for October 27; the limited engagement will run through January 8, 2017.
The starry cast also includes Broadway faves Brandon Uranowitz, Tracie Thoms, Betsy Wolfe and welcome newcomer Anthony Rosenthal.
The musical by James Lapine and William Finn follows Marvin (Borle), who struggles to create a "tight knit family" out of his eclectic array of core relationships, including his ex-wife Trina (Block), his new boyfriend Whizzer (Rannells), his adolescent son (Rosenthal), his psychiatrist (Uranowitz) and his neighbors (Thoms and Wolfe). Amidst a series of life changes, he is forced to reckon with his own views on love, responsibility and what it means to be a man.
Lapine and Finn took home Tony Awards in 1992 for Best Book and Best Original Score; this is the first revival of Falsettos since its original production.
