Next stop: Broadway! In Transit officially opens on December 11 at the Circle in the Square Theatre. With music by an all-star team, including James-Allen Ford, Russ Kaplan, Sara Wordsworth and Frozen's Academy and Grammy Award-winning songwriter Kristen Anderson-Lopez, In Transit takes audiences on an entirely a cappella journey. The tuner follows a group of 11 New Yorkers as they navigate the streets (and tunnels) of the city. So think about it: experience all of the quirks and charm of the New York City subway system without any lines, delays or (real) rats.
To honor the aca-awesome production, which features Justin Guarini, James Snyder, Telly Leung, Erin Mackey, Margo Seibert, Mariand Torres, Nicholas Ward, Steven "HeaveN" Cantor, Chesney Snow, David Abeles, Moya Angela and Gerianne Perez, Broadway.com Resident Artist Justin “Squigs” Robertson gave the cast the ink treatment. A collection of characters come together in a circle (not unlike the theater In Transit takes place in), truly showcasing just how much more vibrant sound (or anything else) is when a bunch of individual voices come together.
Broadway.com wishes In Transit's sonic youth a wonderful opening night and perfect harmony throughout their run! Catch the show at the Circle in the Square Theatre.
About the Artist: With a desire to celebrate the magic of live theater and those who create it, and with a deep reverence for such touchstones as the work of Al Hirschfeld and the wall at Sardi’s, Squigs is happy and grateful to be among those carrying on the traditions where theater and caricature meet. He was born and raised in Oregon, lived in Los Angeles for quite a long time and now calls New York City his home.
