Jersey Boys is keeping it in the family. Olivia Valli, granddaughter of Four Seasons frontman Frankie Valli, will head into the musical based on her grandfather's life next week. She will step into the role based on her grandmother, Frankie Valli's first wife, Mary Delgado, beginning on May 20, replacing Natalie Gallo, who will take her final bow at off-Broadway's New World Stages on May 19.
"I cannot wait to honor my family eight times a week doing what I love," Olivia Valli told Broadway.com. "I'm absolutely honored to be joining such an incredible company. Everyone is so wonderful and insanely talented. To know that I'll be performing on stage with them is really something special."
Jersey Boys will mark Olivia Valli's off-Broadway debut. She previously appeared onstage in the second national touring production of Wicked.
Jersey Boys is written by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio and lyrics by Bob Crewe, direction by Des McAnuff and choreography by Sergio Trujillo. The production features music supervision, vocal/dance arrangements/incidental music by Ron Melrose and orchestrations by Steve Orich.
