More than a few A-list celebrities have been flocking to David Byrne's American Utopia, the Oscar-, Grammy- and Golden Globe-winning songwriter told Seth Meyers on January 6. Amy Schumer, Jerry Seinfeld, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Fred Armisen and Natasha Lyonne have all made appearances in the audience of Byrne's celebrated theatrical concert. Crafting a Broadway show thematically structured around his hit songs has been "really different," Byrne told Seth Meyers. "I know that a Broadway audience expects something different. Like a concert audience, they'll dance and party for the whole show. A Broadway audience: 'You've got to take us on a journey here. We want to know why we’re here,'" he relayed. "I saw it as an opportunity."
