Lea Salonga Announces North American & International Tour
Make plans now to see this Broadway legend on stage! Lea Salonga, the Tony-winning original Kim of Miss Saigon, has scheduled an expansive upcoming concert tour. The star will lend her powerful vocals to venues across North America and to international cities including Dubai, Singapore, Australia and Hong Kong. Most recently seen on Broadway as the goddess Erzulie in the Tony-winning revival of Once on This Island, Salonga's additional main-stem credits include Allegiance, Les Misérables and Flower Drum Song. Annaleigh Ashford & More Set for Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Benefit Broadway Belts for PFF!
An A-list group of Broadway veterans are among the initial slate of talent set to participate in the 10th annual Broadway Belts for PFF!, a benefit for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation taking place on February 24 at the Edison Ballroom. The stars set to perform include Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford, Tony nominees Charles Busch and Beth Malone, Caissie Levy and New York Yankees legend Bernie Williams. In addition to featuring musical numbers, the benefit will honor Tony-winning producer Daryl Roth with the Ralph Howard Legacy Award. BC/EFA Awards $100,000 in Emergency Grants to Support Australia Wildfire Relief Efforts
Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, on behalf of all Broadway, off-Broadway and national touring companies, will award $100,000 in emergency grants to help provide immediate assistance to organizations doing vital, lifesaving, on-the-ground work in Australia as the worst wildfires seen in decades continue to ravage the continent. Two grants of $50,000 each will be sent to NSW Rural Fire Services & Brigades and WIRES: The NSW Wildlife Information, Rescue and Education Service. "As witnessed in California, we know all too well the devastation wildfires can cause and it's heartbreaking to see the impact on our friends in Australia," said Tom Viola, executive director of BC/EFA. "While we may be 10,000 physical miles away, we hold all in Australia close to our hearts."
