Rachel Tucker is headed home to Broadway in a role that's mighty familiar. The strong-voiced stage star will repeat her Olivier-nominated West End turn as Beverley Bass in the Tony-nominated Broadway production of Come From Away beginning on March 3. Tucker will replace Becky Gulsvig, who will play her final performance at the Schoenfeld Theatre on March 1.
In addition to her cheered performance in London's Come From Away, Tucker's stage résumé includes performances in Wicked and The Last Ship. She will headline a special London-debut gala performance of The Pirate Queen next month.
Come From Away tells the true story of 7,000 stranded passengers on September 11, 2001, and the small town in Newfoundland that welcomed them. The show features a book, music and lyrics by Irene Sankoff and David Hein, direction by 2017 Tony winner Christopher Ashley, musical staging by Kelly Devine and music supervision by Ian Eisendrath.
