This pair is about to get mighty popular! Lindsay Pearce, an alum of The Glee Project, and Sam Gravitte, a former Wicked understudy, will take over the roles of Elphaba and Fiyero in the smash-hit Broadway musical on February 25. They will replace current stars Hannah Corneau and Jake Boyd, who will play their final performance at the Gershwin Theatre on February 23.
Pearce gained fans as one of the runners-up on TV's The Glee Project, which landed her a guest-starring role on the Emmy-nominated series Glee. Wicked will mark her Broadway debut.
Gravitte has served as an ensemble member and Fiyero understudy in Wicked on Broadway and on tour. He was recently seen as Dennis Hope in the world premiere musical Almost Famous at San Diego's Old Globe.
Pearce and Gravitte will join a current Wicked cast that includes Ginna Claire Mason as Glinda, Michael McCormick as The Wizard, Riley Costello as Boq, Michael X. Martin as Doctor Dillamond, Alexandra Billings as Madame Morrible and Shoba Narayan as Nessarose.
Wicked features a book by Winnie Holzman, a score by Stephen Schwartz, direction by Joe Mantello, choreography by Wayne Cilento and musical supervision by Stephen Oremus.
