The fan-favorite series Riverdale is theater-geeking out again. Following past musical episodes framed around Carrie and Heathers, the CW series will pay tribute to the cult-hit musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch during its new season. The show's creator, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, broke the news on Instagram.
The musical, penned by original star John Cameron Mitchell and featuring a score by Stephen Trask, tells the story of a fictional rock-'n'-roll band, fronted by Hedwig, a transgender woman from communist East Berlin. Trask's score features "Tear Me Down," "Wig in a Box," "Wicked Little Town," "Angry Inch," "The Origin of Love" and more.
Riverdale's Hedwig episode will air on April 8 at 8:00pm.
