There's something terrifying happening at a bar near you—and no, it wasn't your last blind date. The Woman in Black first premiered at a theater bar in 1987 in Scarborough, England. A thriller about a young lawyer who happens upon a town's dark past, the play was presented as a pub-bound theater experience. It opened in the West End two years later at the Fortune Theatre, and is still running there today, becoming the second longest-running non-musical in West End history. Now, the McKittrick Hotel is returning the play to its boozy past, presenting the thriller at their hidden pub, The Club Car. Ben Porter and David Acton, two actors who've appeared in the West End production, lead the play, which opened off-Broadway on January 23 and was just extended until April 19.
