Casting is complete for the upcoming Encores! staging of Kurt Weill and Alan Jay Lerner's 1948 musical Love Life. Tony winner Victoria Clark will direct and JoAnn Hunter will choreograph the previously announced production, scheduled to run from March 18-22 at New York City Center.
Newly announced cast members include Clarke Thorell (Hairspray, My Fair Lady) as Bill/Mr. Cynic, John Edwards (MJ) as Hobo and Sara Jean Ford (Cats) as Miss Ideal Man, with Isabella Houston as Elizabeth Cooper and Owen Tabaka as Johnny Cooper.
The ensemble will include Adam Bashian, Sarah Bowden, Jonathan Christopher, Kerry Conte, Sara Esty, Daniel Everidge, Maria Failla, Shiloh Goodin, Mary Illes, Andrea Jones-Soloja, Cory Lingner, John-Michael Lyles, Renni Anthony Magee, Tiffany Mann, Kristin Piro, Heath Saunders, Dave Schoonover, Daniel Schwait, Allyson Tucker, Vishal Vaidya, Ryan Worsing and Minami Yusui.
They join the previously announced Tony winner Brian Stokes Mitchell and two-time Tony nominee Kate Baldwin as Sam and Susan Cooper, respectively.
Featuring a book by Lerner and a score by Weill and Lerner, Love Life is a journey across American history seen through the eyes of a family that never ages. The production will feature music direction by Rob Berman.
